Birds and Butterflies, Nature, Videos
The baby bird eggs have hatched and it is so exciting to watch them grow! The nest is located in a fern hanging on my front porch. The mama bird is very gracious to let me water the fern as long as I as I am careful to not disturb the nest!
Fruits in the Garden, GARDENING
This past week, we finally picked our first delicious strawberries! I wish I could take you with me into the strawberry patch, let you smell the wonderful scent that fills the air surrounding the patch and then enjoy the refreshing flavor of freshly picked home grown strawberries!
Garden Pond, GARDENING
A Garden Pond is a wonderful place to relax anytime of the day or night! We built our pond in 2001, then moved it to its current location in 2013 and offered the fish more room to swim! Perennials and shrubs such as Loropetalum, roses and hydrangeas surround the pond. A filtering system makes maintenance a breeze.

Garden Art, GARDENING
Last spring I started a gardening fence to keep my dogs (plus those who wander through the yard) out of the garden beds. I wanted something unique, and came up with a plan to use the trimmings from my muscadine vines and the pruned limbs of the crepe myrtle trees. The advantage first of all is that both were easily available.
Garden Pests, GARDENING
Roses are a beautiful addition to the garden. Their scent brings back memories of childhood days for many of us. But with all their beauty, roses seems to attract the most pests and damaging insects of any of my garden plants. One of the first challenges I notice each year is the Sawfly Larvae.
