Espalier is training a tree or plant by pruning and tying the branches horizontally to a wire or a frame. The word espalier is French meaning “something to rest the shoulder against.” The tree is pruned to have only branches going from side to side in tiers.

This past week, we finally picked our first delicious strawberries! I wish I could take you with me into the strawberry patch, let you smell the wonderful scent that fills the air surrounding the patch and then enjoy the refreshing flavor of freshly picked home grown strawberries!

Have you ever noticed the shiny, metallic material coating the inside of your snack bag? One of my favorite snacks is popcorn! And, if I buy the pre-popped, then it most definitely will be Skinny Pop. Recently, as I was folding a bag from the inside out in order to get to the bottom, it occurred to me that the “silver lining” was just what was needed for the fruit trees!
