Years ago in the southern part of Alabama, we traveled through Eufaula where I fell in love with the town and its history. One of my favorite places we visited was an area where two old churches still stand side by side.

In the same area where I found these churches, I discovered an old grist mill, service station with pumps still standing, and a country store with an interesting door sign. One of my favorite finds was what I call “Coke in the Dirt” picture. Years and years of popping those coke bottles, the caps landing in the dirt, packed down over and over by vehicles, rusted with time.

l love traveling the back roads and finding the unexpected or the forgotten!
