Following is a poem by a very special lady, Ethel Lanier. Thank you, Ethel, for sharing your poem with us. It expresses so much of how we need to have faith in God when all around us says to give up and forget who we are and who we have been. God Bless America and keeps our troops safe!

They say our country is falling,
We know better, don’t we?
As long as we have American Heroes,
Our country will always be free.

We know freedom is bought with a price,
Many have given their lives.
It’s cost many their husbands,
It’s cost many their wives.

When we remember nine eleven,
War was brought to our land.
Our American Heroes flew our banner,
They said, “Let us go, we’ll take a stand.”

Though the world around us seems crazy,
Our God says, “Have no fear.
I win all the battles I fight for you,
I win them with my tears.”

So wave that flag “Old Glory,”
Wave it high, don’t let it fall.
You are our American Heroes,
You are the bravest of us all.
