This is a recipe I have been making since my children were small. It is a favorite and traditional fall and winter drink for our family. Even when our son was away for college or on deployment, it was sent to make sure no matter how far away, he had a little “taste of home” to keep him warm.
Be sure to double this recipe; you will need it!
Creamy Hot Chocolate Mix
- 2 lb. can Nestle’s Quik
- 1 (makes 8 qt.) box of instant dry milk (I use REAL® Carnation instant nonfat dry milk)
- 1 lb box powdered sugar
- 1 (11 oz) jar Coffee-mate (original)
- 3/4 cup dry cocoa powder
Mix ingredients well. Store in an airtight container to preserve freshness.
How to Serve
Fill cup or mug 1/3 full of dry mix. Pour hot water or milk to make a full cup or mug. Stir well and serve. Note: I use milk for a creamier hot chocolate.
Gift Idea
The dry mix makes a great gift in a jar along with instructions! (Coming soon – a printable label to download and use for your gifts!)
