Christmas at Spring Meadows 2013

From the Christmas tree to the table, this is definitely a polka-dot Christmas home. The decorations inside and out feature red and white polka dots, with a few green and white polka-dots thrown in the mix just for an extra pop of color! As you scroll through the photos at the bottom, don’t miss the photo of our furry friends who loved the candy canes on the tree but would always act innocent when I caught them by the tree!

I am a traditional decorator when it comes to the holidays, especially Christmas (and of course, July 4th!). I tried the blue and silver one year, but even before the season was over, I was “over” the blue, missing my traditional red and green! Now, stored away in our attic are the blue lights that had to be customized for our roofline. My husband is keeping them just in case one day I get the whim to try again! Probably will not happen, but who knows!!!???

Soft light within the centerpiece created soft lights and a romantic feel to the room.
Silver balls with red and white polka dots. White sheer bows throughout the tree.
Soft lights behind the manger scene cast a soft, appealing glow. The manger scene was one of the first purchased after we married many years ago.
Everyone had an ornament, a tradition with our family as far back as I can remember.
Soft lights on the tablescape created by weaving battery operated lights throughout the centerpiece.
Door Wreath
White tablecloth with red cross runners created the base for the tablescape.
The green napkins lined in white created a Christmas tree when folded. Trimmed in red added a nice look when folded.
Sheer bows do not block the view across the table, something I always try to pay close attention to in the details of tablescaping.
We are almost ready for our family dinner!

      Thank you, Penny! I enjoy preparing a table, cooking, and serving my family and guests. I want people to feel extra special when they visit my home, sit at my table, or just enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of tea on the porch. It’s about loving others, loving life. My mom was the greatest teacher of all.
