Early Morning Gratitude
Early this morning while sitting in the garden, I watched the sun come up as I listened to the birds singing, announcing the beginning of a new day. The flowers are blooming and there is a sweet fragrance in the air. I am thankful to my faithful God for new “days” and opportunities to experience life.
As I reflect on this day a few years ago, at this moment I was sitting in a waiting room, about to have a biopsy that would change the course for my life.
Today, as I look back over the last few years, I am filled with gratitude for the Hand of God that guided me on a journey I did not plan, would not have chosen, but I was surrounded by His presence every step of the way. Even though I experienced ups and downs since the day of the biopsy and diagnosis, I held to the promise that His faithfulness never ends. And it didn’t. It never will.
Today, as I sat in the stillness of the early morning, listening to the sounds around me and breathing in life, an old song came to mind. “Great is His Faithfulness.” The words of that song are my testimony.

God is faithful and never changes. His compassion and love are new each morning. He gives exactly what we need for each day. The promise of His unfailing love is a solid rock that we can stand on when the storms come crashing in.
Trust the Promise Keeper
As you face the storms of life, remember that no trial lasts forever and no circumstance is beyond God’s care. When the clouds are dark and the path ahead seems uncertain, hold fast to His promises and trust in His unfailing love. The same God who was faithful yesterday is faithful today and will be faithful tomorrow. One day, you will look back and see that He was with you every step of the way, bringing you through the storm and into the light of a new dawn.

- Can you identify a difficult or unexpected season in your life where, looking back, you can now see God’s faithfulness and guidance?
- How have moments of stillness, gratitude, or reflection helped you recognize God’s presence in your daily life?
- What “new day” or fresh opportunity is God giving you today, and how might you respond with faith and gratitude?
Where Do We Go From Here
Life’s unexpected journeys remind us that while we cannot control what lies ahead, we can choose how we walk through each day. Looking back on God’s faithfulness gives us confidence to move forward with hope, gratitude, and trust. The same God who carried us through yesterday’s challenges will provide strength and grace for whatever tomorrow brings.
- Pause each day to recognize God’s blessings and thank Him for His presence and provision, even in the small moments.
- Trust God with the unknowns ahead, remembering how He has faithfully guided you through past trials.
- Share your testimony with others, offering encouragement and hope to those who may be facing their own difficult journey.
Let’s Pray
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unfailing faithfulness through every season of life. When storms arise and the path ahead is unclear, help us trust in Your presence and rest in Your promises. Fill our hearts with hope, gratitude, and peace, knowing that You are guiding our steps each day. May we never forget that Your mercies are new each morning and that Your love never fails. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
