“Sharing truth as truth…sharing what God’s Word says.” Caris Snider, SCWC Workshop Presenter
Monday Writers’ Meetup
Each Monday, or if needed, on Tuesday, I meet up by phone with friends who attended the 2025 Southern Christian Writers’ Conference. We spend our time digging deeper into the conference workshops. Yesterday, and today, our topic was How to Write Devotional Books presented by Caris Snider. I gained so much from her presentation, both live and virtual and then, again with my Monday and Tuesday friends as we discussed our takeaways from the workshop.
Caris is the author of several books. One of my favorite is Anxiety Elephants. A 31-Day Devotional To Help Stomp Out Your Anxiety. Check it out on Amazon. Quoting from this book:
“I have learned over the years that when I stop grabbing my phone to see what everyone is saying about my social media posts, or to see what everyone else is doing, and instead, grab my Bible to see what God is saying, I am more equipped to fight any anxiety trying to come my way.”
Have I told y’all how much I love reading, writing, and learning? You thought I was going to say Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic, didn’t you? That’s from way back there somewhere in my memories!
Check out Caris Snider’s Website and learn more about her books. She is an amazing author and speaker.
Next Week’s Recap
Coming next week on Monday Writers’ Meetup will be the SCWC workshop presented by Shirley Crowder and Harriet Michael: Collaborative Creations.

I only heard Caris’s keynote, but wow! So anointed. How wonderful to connect weekly and go deeper into the conference material. Sounds like a great way to build relationship with fellow writers as well.
Sorry, I missed the conference this year. I have checked out her webpage. Thanks for sharing this with me.
