But it reminded me that I never posted my fruit and produce from June, so here we are, just a few months late!

June in the Garden

We have a lot of fruit today. The blackberry patch is loaded with berries and the blueberries are ripe for the picking. We have to get out early to pick or else the birds discover the ripe fruits. They espcially have a keen eye for the figs.

Today I picked our first of the figs. These are knows as the Italian Honey fig, aka Lemon fig.

When we first planted these fig trees, thinking they were like the Brown Turkey figs, we waited and watched for them to turn brown. They kept getting bigger and turned a beautiful green/golden color. We almost missed enjoying these sweet, juicy fruits because we did not know their growth habits. Now we know!

The fig tree is a powerful symbol of patience and growth in the Bible. It doesn’t rush its fruit but waits quietly for the right season. Sometimes, like the fig tree, our lives feel barren. We pray for change, for blessings, or for answers, but the fruit seems slow to appear. If you are like me, at times I get discouraged and question whether God is listening or if He even cares.

But wait! In Mark 13:28-29 (NLT), Jesus says, “Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things, you will know that his return is near, right at the door.”

The fig tree teaches us to trust God’s timing. Its fruit comes at just the right time and when God’s perfect plan unfolds. Waiting isn’t wasted time. It’s a time of growth beneath the surface—roots digging deeper in faith, patience strengthening, and hope taking hold.

When you feel like your prayers are unanswered or your efforts seem fruitless, remember the fig tree. Even when it appears silent, life and growth are happening. God is at work in ways you can’t yet see.

Life lessons from the fig tree!
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]
Let’s Pray

Father, help us to trust Your timing even when I don’t understand. Teach us patience in the waiting, faith when we feel weary, and hope when the future seems uncertain. Grow Your fruit in our lives so we reflect Your love and grace to others. Thank You for never forgetting us and for working all things together for good.
