One of my favorite memories is when my momma would bake her peanut butter cookies, and they were ready fresh out of the oven when my brothers and I walked in the door. There was also a glass of fresh creamy milk waiting for us (from when my momma and grandmother milked the cow early in the morning).<\/p>\n<p>Just for you I am providing the recipe so you can bake these delicious cookies and start making memories that will last for generations. Perhaps this reminds you of memories of your childhood and something your momma baked.<\/p>\n<p>This is one of my favorite cookies to enjoy on a cold day with a cup of hot chocolate while curled up in a chair by the fire with a good book.<\/p>\n<p>I would love to have a glass of that fresh milk I knew as a child. If you have a question about the recipe, put it in the comments.<\/p>\n<h2>Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p>1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature<br \/>1 cup granulated sugar<br \/>3\/4 cup light brown sugar<br \/>2 large eggs, room temperature<br \/>1 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter<br \/>1 1\/2 teaspoons vanilla extract<br \/>3 cups all-purpose flour<br \/>1 teaspoon baking soda<br \/>1 teaspoon baking powder<br \/>1\/2 teaspoon salt<\/p>\n<h2>Directions<\/h2>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350\u00ba F.<\/p>\n<p>In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars on medium speed until smooth. Slowly add in the eggs and mix on high, making sure to scrape the sides of the bowl. Add the peanut butter and vanilla, and mix until incorporated and smooth.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate bowl, sift together the dry ingredients. Pour into egg\/peanut butter mixture and mix on low. It\u2019s okay if dough is thick and sticky.<\/p>\n<p>Cover dough and chill in refrigerator for 2-4 hours.<\/p>\n<p>When ready to bake, line two cookie trays with parchment paper. Form balls out of the dough (balls should equal about 1-1 1\/2 tablespoons of dough). Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet and press the tines of a fork (very important!) into the cookies to form criss-cross pattern on top.<\/p>\n<p>Bake until very lightly browned, about 10-11 minutes in my oven.
