Fresh out of the oven and smelling great!<\/p><\/div>\n

1 c. white sugar
\n1 c. brown sugar
\n1 c. butter
\n1 tsp. vanilla
\n2 eggs
\n2 1\/2 c. flour
\n1 tsp. baking powder
\n1 tsp. soda
\n1\/2 tsp. salt
\n1 cup orange slices, chopped
\n1 cup walnuts, chopped (use your choice of nuts)<\/p>\n

Mix butter and sugars until creamy; add eggs and vanilla, then dry ingredients. Add candies and nuts. Drop on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.<\/p>\n

Dough will be stiff. Be sure and chop the orange slices very small. This takes time. Be patient!<\/p><\/div>\n

Things that will not work! Trust me!<\/p><\/div>\n

Do not try to chop your orange slices in a food processor. It looks like it is going to work but only for a few seconds. Then, the orange slices get hot in the processor and really stick together. I am telling you this from experience! You do not want to go that route! Then, be warned, a blender set on grate (sounds like a good idea, right?) will not work! So, just get your kitchen scissors or a good knife, and stop chopping or cutting. What finally worked for me was patience mixed flour. I placed my orange slices on my cutting board, sprinkled them with flour, and then chopped! It worked. The flour I used to sprinkle my orange slices was part of the flour needed for the cookie mix. Only used a little – it didn’t take much.<\/p>\n

Using a tablespoon, I placed the dough on the cookie sheet, then baked in a 350 degree until slightly brown on the edges. <\/p>\n
