We have five porches, and there is something about each one that I enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>But my answer was simple.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the spring, summer, and early fall, it\u2019s wherever the hummingbirds are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Each spring, the hummingbirds return to our porch as if they have memorized the path God created for them to follow.<\/p>\n<p>I love to watch as they gather around the feeders.<\/p>\n<p>They are one of the smallest visitors to our garden but also the busiest.<\/p>\n<p>The hummingbirds hover with remarkable precision, completely focused on drawing every drop of nectar they can. They are not simply enjoying a sweet treat. They are fueling their tiny bodies for the journey ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Every sip serves a purpose. It sustains them for the journey.<\/p>\n<p>As I watch, I wonder if we approach our spiritual lives, our journey, with the same determination.<\/p>\n<p>Do we seek God's presence with that kind of intention? Do we linger in His Word long enough to receive the nourishment our souls need, or do we rush away before our hearts have truly been filled?<\/p>\n<p>It's easy to confuse activity with purpose. Our calendars fill with appointments, our days grow busier, and responsibilities compete for attention. We can spend an entire day going and doing without ever asking whether we are moving in the direction that God desires.<\/p>\n<p>In Ephesians 5:15, Paul gently cautions us: \"Be very careful, then, how you live.\"<\/p>\n<p>He is not merely telling us to avoid mistakes. He's inviting us to live with purpose. To seek wisdom. And wisdom begins when we recognize that each conversation, decision, interruption, and ordinary moments carry eternal significance.<\/p>\n<p>The hummingbird doesn't spend its energy chasing what can't sustain it. It knows to return to the nectar that gives it strength for the next part of its journey.<\/p>\n<p>God's Word is spiritual nourishment for our journey. Through Scripture, prayer, and time where we dwell in His presence, God provides exactly what we need for today's challenges and tomorrow's unknowns.<\/p>\n<p>We were never meant to travel on yesterday's strength. Life is more than reaching the finish line. It is about becoming the person God is shaping along the way. Every season teaches us something if we are willing to pay attention. Each step of obedience leaves a testimony for those who walk in our footsteps.<\/p>\n<p>There's an old saying I've heard quoted since I was a young girl. I'm sure you are also familiar with it: \"Life is not about the destination. It's about the journey.\" Most of us understand that it means to live fully, cherish the people we love, and make each day count. But, I believe both the journey and the destination matter. Why? Because the road we're traveling eventually leads us to our final destination.<\/p>\n<p>Today is a gift from the Lord. We cannot relive yesterday, and tomorrow is not promised. But today is a treasure.<\/p>\n<p>Like the hummingbird who faithfully returns to the source that sustains it, may we seek Christ each day, allowing Him to fill us with the wisdom and strength we need for our journey.<\/p>\n<p>And let's remember, each step we take, we are held in the Hand of our faithful Father.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_divider_1 et_pb_divider et_pb_space et_pb_divider_position_top et_pb_module preset--module--divi-divider--default\"><div class=\"et_pb_divider_internal\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_4 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h2>Pause &amp; Reflect<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Where have I allowed busyness to replace purposeful living?<span aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchor\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li>What daily habit would help me walk more wisely with Christ?<\/li>\n<li>If someone watched the journey of my life, would they see evidence that I am following Jesus?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_divider_2 et_pb_divider et_pb_space et_pb_divider_position_top et_pb_module preset--module--divi-divider--default\"><div class=\"et_pb_divider_internal\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_5 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\" data-et-mv-hidden-phone=\"true\"><h2>Where Do We Go From Here?<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"361\" data-end=\"646\" class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\">Now that we know what we know, let's ask ourselves this question: Where do we go from here?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"361\" data-end=\"646\" class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\">Perhaps the next time we catch ourselves hurrying from one task to another, we will think of the hummingbird. Though its wings beat faster than the eye can follow, it never forgets where its strength is found. Again and again, it returns to the nectar that was provided for its journey.<span aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchor\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"648\" data-end=\"996\">Are we any different?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"648\" data-end=\"996\">Each day brings its own demands, and we can't meet them on yesterday's strength or borrowed faith. We need fresh grace, renewed wisdom, and time in the presence of the One who faithfully sustains us. Day by day.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"998\" data-end=\"1556\">Today, let's linger a little longer with the Lord. Let's open His Word before the noise of the day crowds our thoughts. Take time to sit quietly in prayer, even if only for a few minutes. Allow God to steady our hearts. As we walk through the ordinary moments of our day, ask Him to help us notice where He is leading and to give us the courage to follow.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"998\" data-end=\"1556\">Our journey is not measured by how quickly we arrive, but by how faithfully we walk with Christ along the way. Like the hummingbird, we may only see the flower directly in front of us, but God sees the entire landscape. He knows where we have been, where we are now, and where He is leading us next. When we surrender our plans and trust His direction, we discover that His purposes are always greater than anything we could have arranged ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>Our life moves quickly, or so it seems, but we don't have to rush through it. Let's slow down, notice what God is doing, walk wisely, and remember...your stories matter.<\/p>\n<p>Before moving on, even if you listened to this song at the beginning, take time again.
