Storyteller\" class=\"tts-node group\/tts-node rounded-[6px] box-decoration-clone bg-clip-content py-[3px]\">Even though this story is about our barn, the old wood, and a photo, it's a story about faith. Hope. Storyteller\" class=\"tts-node group\/tts-node rounded-[6px] box-decoration-clone bg-clip-content py-[3px]\">Our focus scripture today is 1 Corinthians 13:13. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_2 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><div class=\"xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs x126k92a\">\n<div class=\"xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold;\">Faith. Hope. Love<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<p dir=\"auto\"><span><em data-start=\"625\" data-end=\"714\">\u201cAnd now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love\u201d<\/em> 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>When we bought our land, first we chose the perfect spot to build our house, and the barn came next. Three generations had a hand in building our barn\u2014my husband, his father, and our son.<\/p>\n<p>A local sawmill cut the wood for us, and even though our son was just a young boy at the time, he worked alongside his dad and grandfather, hammering nails and learning the value of hard work.<\/p>\n<p>Today, that barn stands as a testament to our family\u2019s labor and love.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>Through the years, the barn has withstood storms. At times, the tin roof rattled with the force of strong winds but was held securely because of the way it was constructed. Because of the storms, the wood changed and became weathered.<\/p>\n<p>Our barn took on a timeless beauty.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"1023\">In 2016, when we added a workshop to the side of the barn, we carefully removed and preserved some of the original barn wood. Later, that old weathered wood found a new purpose\u2014it became the frame for a special photograph.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1025\" data-end=\"1295\">The photo inside that frame was of a gladiolus blooming in our Bird Garden, a space designed by our oldest granddaughter. It is a place of peace and beauty for me, but especially during treatments and recovery from breast cancer in 2018.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1025\" data-end=\"1295\">I am thankful to say, \u201cI am a survivor!\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1297\" data-end=\"1534\">In 2019, we donated the framed print to our local Winn-Dixie (we sure miss our store) as part of a raffle they sponsored for Breast Cancer Awareness. I don\u2019t know who won the print, but I hope they know they have a true \u201cone of a kind.\u201d<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1536\" data-end=\"1845\">Through the breast cancer journey, I learned a great deal about nutrition and the importance of caring for our bodies. I firmly believe that health is deeply connected to what we eat, how we manage stress, and exercise.<\/p>\n<p data-id=\"T71TfAocqC6y8D3hGDGH\" class=\"text-md mb-4\" data-pm-slice=\"2 2 []\"><span data-isttsnode=\"true\" data-voicerefid=\"TNS56aYtQGzK6sA0XdIu\" data-globalvoicesettingsenabled=\"true\" data-volumegaindb=\"0\" data-muted=\"false\" data-fadeinms=\"0\" data-fadeoutms=\"0\" data-voiceid=\"TNS56aYtQGzK6sA0XdIu\" data-voicename=\"Sandi. Storyteller\" class=\"tts-node group\/tts-node rounded-[6px] box-decoration-clone bg-clip-content py-[3px]\">But more than anything, leaning into the Word of God and grasping the full meaning of His promises carried me through those difficult times. <\/span><\/p>\n<p data-id=\"PUtWJGczQNPNynjBKHKg\" class=\"text-md mb-4\"><span data-isttsnode=\"true\" data-voicerefid=\"TNS56aYtQGzK6sA0XdIu\" data-globalvoicesettingsenabled=\"true\" data-volumegaindb=\"0\" data-muted=\"false\" data-fadeinms=\"0\" data-fadeoutms=\"0\" data-voiceid=\"TNS56aYtQGzK6sA0XdIu\" data-voicename=\"Sandi. Storyteller\" class=\"tts-node group\/tts-node rounded-[6px] box-decoration-clone bg-clip-content py-[3px]\">When we place our hope in Christ, He will carry us through times that are difficult and challenging. <\/span><\/p>\n<p data-id=\"SLc1uZR0XhZpOFe7dYYt\" class=\"text-md mb-4\"><span data-isttsnode=\"true\" data-voicerefid=\"TNS56aYtQGzK6sA0XdIu\" data-globalvoicesettingsenabled=\"true\" data-volumegaindb=\"0\" data-muted=\"false\" data-fadeinms=\"0\" data-fadeoutms=\"0\" data-voiceid=\"TNS56aYtQGzK6sA0XdIu\" data-voicename=\"Sandi. Storyteller\" class=\"tts-node group\/tts-node rounded-[6px] box-decoration-clone bg-clip-content py-[3px]\">Through Him, we can all be survivors no matter the outcome or how the world defines our journey. <\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1847\" data-end=\"2204\">In Christ, we have hope because of our living Lord.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2206\" data-end=\"2557\">When we feel broken, useless, or like \u201cold weathered barn wood,\u201d God takes what we offer Him and turns it into something beautiful. Our lives have purpose in His hands. Our journey becomes a mission guided by His plan. He takes our brokenness and transforms it into a testimony that helps others. We can see God's fingerprints in the beautiful moments and even in the broken places.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>So let's take care of ourselves. That means caring for our bodies, spending time with God in prayer, and showing ourselves a little grace along the way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Your story isn't over. Just like that old weathered wood, there's still beauty to be found and purpose yet to come.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"et_pb_text_5 et_pb_text et_pb_bg_layout_light et_pb_module et_block_module\"><div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><h2>Let's Pray<\/h2>\n<p>Gracious Lord, thank You for the strength that springs from faith, the courage that rises through hope, and the tenderness that abides in love. Teach us to see Your handiwork in the weathered places of our lives, and to honor each season with gratitude. Renew our bodies, minds, and spirits, that we may walk in health and harmony with Your will. Bless those enduring illness or uncertainty today\u2014surround them with Your peace. May our lives frame the beauty of Your grace for generations to come.
