Life from Daisy Mae’s Point of View<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been standing in the hallway, waiting for her to invite me in. Been here for at least 30 seconds.<\/p>\n

The keyboard clicking and her laughter show me she is in another world. If I bark, I\u2019ll scare her, and she will fall out of her chair. It’s happened. It gets me in trouble. But it also gets her attention.<\/p>\n

You think she is writing a story about me?<\/p>\n

I think I can sneak in and lie under her desk and play quietly with my squeaky toy. She won\u2019t even notice.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been an entire minute now. <\/a><\/span>Too long. Seems like a lifetime. I can’t wait. I\u2019m going in!\u201d<\/p>\n

Life With Daisy Mae from My Point of View<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Daisy Mae. Our inquisitive and fun golden retriever. That look on her face when she stood at the partially closed door to my office. I think you will agree it was a look of “Why am I outside in the hallway while you are inside your office?”<\/p>\n

I heard her come in, running down the hallway after playing outside. She stood at my office door, whining, trying to get my attention. When I turned to face her, she greeted me with a look of concern. Even though she had only been outside my door for about one minute, to her, it was one minute too long.<\/p>\n

When this cuddly ball of fur came to us in early January 2024, a wonderful but challenging adventure began.<\/p>\n

At the time, I was suffering from a severe case of shingles. (I will share about the shingles experience in another post.) It was painful for anything to touch my skin, especially Daisy Mae’s sharp puppy claws. If I wrapped a blanket around me and she sat in my lap with the blanket between us, we enjoyed a lot of snuggle time.<\/p>\n

Overnight, it seems, she grew long legs, and now she loves to be outside running and playing with the cats. The cats aren’t sure about playing with her, but it doesn’t stop her.<\/p>\n

Her best buddy, Monty (an English chocolate lab who belongs to our son), went home to Virginia two months ago. He was with us for almost a year, and she misses him. I’ll post some videos of the two of them playing. What fun!<\/p>\n

Life with Daisy Mae is an adventure each day. She is intelligent, sweet, curious, and full of energy! We are doing our best to keep up with her.<\/p>\n

More stories about Daisy Mae are coming soon. But until then, I leave you with our photogenic girl when she was a baby. In this picture, she was waiting for breakfast. She appears to be patiently waiting.
