Following is a poem by a very special lady, Ethel Lanier. Thank you, Ethel, for sharing your poem with us. It expresses so much of how we need to have faith in God when all around us says to give up and forget who we are and who we have been.<\/em> God Bless America and keeps our troops safe!<\/em><\/p>\n

They say our country is falling,
\nWe know better, don’t we?
\nAs long as we have American Heroes,
\nOur country will always be free.<\/p>\n

We know freedom is bought with a price,
\nMany have given their lives.
\nIt’s cost many their husbands,
\nIt’s cost many their wives.<\/p>\n

When we remember nine eleven,
\nWar was brought to our land.
\nOur American Heroes flew our banner,
\nThey said, “Let us go, we’ll take a stand.”<\/p>\n

Though the world around us seems crazy,
\nOur God says, “Have no fear.
\nI win all the battles I fight for you,
\nI win them with my tears.”<\/p>\n

So wave that flag “Old Glory,”
\nWave it high, don’t let it fall.
\nYou are our American Heroes,
\nYou are the bravest of us all.<\/p>\n
