We are Sandi and Susan, Threads of Grace, a non-profit ministry sharing kindness, compassion, and hope with those who are going through tough times in their lives.<\/p>\n

What began as a way to help those facing breast cancer has grown to include those who just need to know that someone cares. One way we do this is by gifting Threads of Grace gift bags that include comfort pillows, handmade items, cards of encouragement, and Promises & Prayers, a book written by Sandi during her journey through breast cancer.<\/p>\n

We are a non-profit, funded by gifts and donations from our contributors. We never ask for donations of any type but willingly accept support from those who feel led to be a part of an outreach ministry helping hurting people.<\/p>\n

Sandi began Threads of Grace in 2019. After completing treatments for breast cancer, she learned ways to help others going through the same journey. At first, it was the comfort pillows with a hand-drawn card. As the ministry grew, more items were added to the gift bags.<\/p>\n

In 2021, Susan became part of the ministry. She is an amazing seamstress and also an artist. She pays attention to details in everything she does. Susan designed the Heart Pockets used on the outside of the gift bags and helps with the sewing of the Comfort Pillows, pillowcases, tissue holders, and also makes port pillows for a local cancer center. She is a gifted artist in so many ways!<\/p>\n

Comfort Pillows<\/h3>\n

Comfort Pillows are small soft pillows sewn and filled by loving hands to offer comfort, either as a support for surgery patients, when going through radiation to protect the skin on tender skin, or just to snuggle with for comfort.<\/p>\n

Each pillow is lovingly sewn and filled with soft cotton batting. Each pillow comes with a case that can be washed or replaced if needed.<\/p>\n

Promises & Prayers<\/h3>\n

Promises & Prayers is a collection of journal entries written by Sandi while she was undergoing surgery, chemo, and radiation treatments for breast cancer. The book includes pages for readers to write their “promises and prayers” and hand-drawn art pages for coloring. Each bag also includes a pack of colored pencils.<\/p>\n

Books and Cards of Encouragement<\/h3>\n

Each gift bag recipient receives cards of encouragement. The hand-drawn cards by Sandi are inspired by life in the Gardens of Spring Meadows.<\/p>\n

Gift Bags Packed with Love<\/h3>\n

In addition to the Heart Pocket on the outside of the gift bag, each bag includes a “Comfort Pillow,” tissue in a fabric holder, mints, books, colored pencils, a small notepad with pen, word search booklets, and port pillows for chemo patients. Handwritten cards of encouragement are also included. We often have contributors give additional items not listed here.<\/p>\n
