This Scripture best describes how we feel about home, what it is, and where it is: “Lord, through all the generations you have been our home! (2) Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God” Psalm 90:1-2 NLT.<\/p>\n
As you stroll through my site, what I write about will tell you who I am and what I enjoy. But first, let me tell you about the manual typewriter you see in the picture. It’s been around for as long as I can remember. It was my dad’s, and I can still see it sitting on his office desk next to the window that overlooked the\u00a0Bright Star Restaurant<\/a>\u00a0in downtown\u00a0Bessemer, Alabama.<\/a><\/p>\n Growing up in the days before electronic devices, my brothers and I learned to type on this vintage machine. Occasionally, I type on it just to hear the sound of the hammer as it swings up to leave its intended mark. Each time I place my hands on the keys, it takes me back to simpler days before technology stormed our world. Meanwhile, in another city, a young girl who was part country, part “citified,” joined with a group of girls for a fun night at the fair. Yes, you guessed it. That country\/cowboy and this country\/city girl met on the fairway at the Alabama State Fair. One year later, we married and began a life journey together.<\/span> [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.26.1″ _module_preset=”default” background_image=”https:\/\/sandiherron.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/chapters-of-our-life.penbg_.jpg” custom_padding=”2px|4px|2px|4px|false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n Where we live is called Spring Meadow Farms. The name drew me before I even saw the property with the stream running through it. Our children are married, and we are proud Pawpaw and Mimi to four wonderful grandchildren. It is where stories are shared, laughter is heard, and the scent of wild honeysuckle fills the air. I recall many hot southern evenings enjoying a cold glass of iced tea and good conversation.\u00a0<\/span> I believe that everyone has a story to tell; sometimes, we just have to dig deep to find it. We use our experience to help others learn to grow and preserve their food.<\/span> My mother always had the most beautiful flower gardens in our neighborhood, and I inherited my love for flowers from her. That country\/cowboy and this country\/city girl met on the fairway at the Alabama State Fair and married one year later to the sound of \"Until the Twelfth of Never.<\/a>\" Why \"Twelfth of Never?\" We met October 12, and I loved the Donnie Osmond song! I was and still am a romantic! Since then, we have created a beautiful life that includes two wonderful and amazing grown kids. Our daughter and her husband have blessed us with two of the sweetest and most beautiful granddaughters ever. You will read stories about our grandkids and see lots of pictures of them! Our son is married to a beautiful girl from Columbia and we are doing our best to learn Spanish! Thankful she is so smart and learning English! I have a passion for photography! I am not a \"posed setting\" photographer but a life photographer. That includes people in motion and living life. Animals, gardens, nature, landscapes, and seeing unexpected things through the lens of the camera.\n\nSome of my favorite shots have been surprises found after a photography outing and viewing the photos for editing. The People in My Life<\/h3>\nI love people. Deeply. In addition to my family (Have I told you about my grandkids???), my life is enriched with friends, neighbors, and my community. I love crazy people, lovable people, and not-so-lovable people.
