\u201cI thought you were finished blooming,\u201d Chicky Chickweed spits her words as she glares at the beautiful flowers around her. \u201cAfter all, you\u2019ve had a hot, dry summer. Ready to give it up?\u201d<\/p>\n

Zinny Zinia and her friends shake their little flower heads, \u201cNo! We are not finished yet!\u201d<\/p>\n

Chicky replied, \u201cDitto! Neither are we!\u201d At her words, all the weeds laugh as they shake their stalks and scatter seeds through the air in all directions.<\/p>\n

Penny Petunia winced as the seeds fell over her beautiful purple blooms. \u201cOh, no! More weeds will grow, crowd my space, and hide my beauty. I cannot survive the weeds!\u201d<\/p>\n

Zinny glanced at Penny and, in a tender voice, reassured her, \u201cYou will survive. There is more for us to do, Penny. Don\u2019t listen to those intruding weeds. They will soon be uprooted and gone!\u201d<\/p>\n
